The paper you’re reading emerged from another old-fashioned technology, the mailing list. This one is a 70-odd collection of artists, researchers, academics, musicians, designers, bloggers and friends. The group started as a chat about someone’s record label; like many lists it’s since become a virtual social club, home to a surprising number of illuminating, sprawling and unpredictable conversations.
